Burn Out Recovery
Have you ever wondered..."how in the hell am I going to survive another week like this?" or "I'm so exhausted and I can't relay on anyone else"? If so, you might be dealing with burnout.
How do I know if I'm burnt out?
Burn out is a state of being where we experience complete mental, emotional, and even physical exhaustion. Many time though, despite this, we are still functioning (usually over functioning) and we might feel like something needs to change but we have no idea what or where to start.
Maybe you're feeling:
Unfocused and disconnected
Struggling with getting quality sleep
Feeling guilty for relaxing or unable to relax
Not enjoying things you used to
Struggling with self-care
Hopeless about change
Burn out can affect anyone, but tends to impact people who are high achievers and:
Professionals/top of their field
Healthcare/human care workers
Animal care workers and veterinarians
Navigating the care for a sick or aging family member
New parents
Social activists
Students
...so much more
I am several of these things as well, and if compassion is a demand placed on you every day, it can quickly drain your empathy reserves leaving you feeling worn down, numb, exhausted, and dreading the next day, which can negatively impact the relationships we care about so deeply and our own wellbeing.
The good news?
This is a normal response to compassion fatigue and burn out, and can be addressed with therapy, self-care, and commitment toward change.
Sometimes it's hard to remember that self-care is more than just treating yourself to a piece of chocolate at the end of the day and throwing on a pair of fuzzy socks (though these are great!). Sustained care for ourselves is:
Becoming empowered to make uncomfortable choices
Learn healthy boundaries
Engage in daily habits that may appear boring and mundane but that provide a long term impact
If you're ready to take the next step toward more self-care, contact me here today to schedule a free 15 minute consultation.
I will provide you with the space to explore:

The necessary changes to find a healthy balance between caring for yourself and caring for others
Restoring your energy (and empathy) reserves so that you can feel rejuvenated in all of your undertakings
How to live a life more in alignment with you own values
Some small changes in mindset and behavior can help you obtain what you want from yourself and your life.
After all, this is YOUR life, right?
We cannot effectively care for others without first taking care of ourselves. So, if you're ready to get started on caring for yourself as much as you’ve been caring for everyone else...
